Marketing and Communications Manager

As our new Marketing and Communications Manager, you will plan and deliver data-driven campaigns that inspire audiences to engage with us and spread our stories far and wide. You’ll have the chance to step behind the scenes and collaborate with artistic teams to craft assets for productions and festivals that bring pride to our region and beyond. Key Responsibilities
Marketing and Communications
- Lead on the planning and delivery of Wiltshire Creative’s marketing and communications campaigns - including print, digital, press and PR.
- Lead on the planning and delivery of campaigns to engage specific audience segments, in line with the Marketing and Audience Development Strategy.
- Monitor marketing campaign outcomes to inform future marketing and sales activity, audience targets and new initiatives.
- Be the main point of contact for visiting company representatives and ensure an efficient, friendly experience when they are collaborating with Wiltshire Creative.
- Arrange advertising and campaign spend for all productions, in line with budgets and in liaison with the Director of Audiences.
- Oversee the social media plan, in liaison with the Marketing Officer, reporting on and responding to data to refine plans.
- Oversee Wiltshire Creative’s website, monitoring accuracy and updates to maximise sales and to ensure a positive user experience.
- Build relationships with local and regional media contacts, sharing press releases and pitching feature and interview ideas.
- Collaborate with the Director of Audiences and Wiltshire Creative’s national PR agency, sharing all relevant information, imagery and campaign ideas to support national PR activity.
- Manage the design of all printed, online and communications materials (inc. website, e-mail, advertising, signage and social media) in line with our brand guidelines.
- Act as brand guardian for Wiltshire Creative, in conjunction with the Director of Audiences.
- Advocate for the organisation and deputise for the Director of Audiences where relevant in relation to communication of the artistic programme.
- Manage the creation of show programmes in liaison with the Marketing Officer, Producers and Operations team.
Sales, Revenue and Data
- Monitor income targets for the artistic programme with the Director of Audiences, Executive Director and Producers.
- Regularly review campaign activity with the Director of Audiences in order to achieve income and audience targets.
- Support the Director of Audiences on season planning and performance schedules, pricing, yield management, discount strategies and attendance targets.
- Plan on sale deadlines, in liaison with the Director of Audiences, and communicate and review these with the wider Planning team.
Management & Reporting
- Manage and appraise direct line management reports, supporting them to achieve their objectives.
- Evaluate marketing and communications campaigns and activity using CRM, Google and Social Media analytics to inform future campaigns.
- Liaise with external consultants and the Systems and Sales Officer, to maximise use of reporting to increase sales on individual productions.
General
- Participate in industry-wide/cross-venue strategic initiatives and advocate these within Wiltshire Creative.
- Work at all times in accordance with Wiltshire Creative’s Sustainability Policy and Action Plan and proactively develop and encourage environmentally sustainable practice.
- Act as an ambassador and advocate for Wiltshire Creative.
- Always act in the best interests of Wiltshire Creative.

- Abide by Wiltshire Creative’s policies as set out in the Staff Handbook.
- Undertake any other duties as appropriate to the post and as agreed with the Director of Audiences.
- Maintain confidentiality in all areas relating to Wiltshire Creative.
About You
- You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- You will have a proven track record of delivering projects and meeting deadlines
- You will have a keen attention to detail and copywriting skills
- You will be organised and able to plan and prioritise multiple workstreams to meet project deadlines
- You will have experience of leading social media campaigns
- You will have experience of creating, implementing and evaluating successful marketing campaigns
- You will be able to effectively interpret marketing and audience data
- You will have managed campaign budgets and be able to control costs
- You will be adept at collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders (including design agencies and artists)
- You will have proven people management skills, with substantial line management experience
- You will have a passion for and knowledge of the arts with a genuine interest and understanding of the overall work of Wiltshire Creative
- Digital design experience would be an advantage
